Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon for the Australian Military

Mercedes-Benz (MB) began to produce the G-Wagon for the armed forces of Australia, Australian Defence Force (ADF) at its plant in Austria and will be sent early 2011. At the same time, the military-industrial companies GH Varley of Newcastle, based in Australia also began production of military-specific module to be paired on the G-Wagon before being sent.

Before being produced, for two years with the Defence Material Organisation MB has done the preparation and testing of military jeeps. To test that uses a G-Wagon prototype that was sent last October, involving the Army and Royal Australian Air Force to evaluate various conditions by conducting military simulations.
The model that tested the G-Wagon 4WD station wagons, 4WD cab chassis, and chassis 6WD single and double cabins, all using the 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel engine. Mercedes will deliver 1200 units and 4WD 6WD G-Wagon to the ADF in the next three years, which has completed various military-specific modules such as cargo, the control center and ambulance. Mercedes also will provide technical support and spare parts on the car and modules for cars is still used by armed forces.
