2012 Cars that Pass Safety Test

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHTS) announced the rows of cars in 2012 who received the award “Top Safety Pick”. In total there are 115 cars pass the test, 18 of which the latest models and the rest is further validation of test results have ever done before.

Of the 115 vehicles tested, 69 of which consisted of sedans and hatchbacks, 38 SUVs, 5 MPV, and 3 pickup. While 18 new models that pass the test of the Honda Fit, CR-Z, Insight, Accord, CR-V, Pilot, Ridgeline, Toyota Yaris, Camry, Prius v, Buick Verano, Accura TL, TSX sedan, hatchback TSX, MDX, GMC Terrain, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
The type of tests conducted IIHTS include protection when hit from the side, front, rear, and roll over. Level effects of collisions are calculated and converted into 5 stars.
“This year almost all the models meet the requirements of rigorous tests conducted. We commend the producers who are now completely full concentration in terms of passenger safety,” said Adrian Lund, president IIHTS.
